WebMail is a web-based interface to your email.  This free, convenient service makes it easy  to check your incoming messages when you are away from your home computer.  Many customers use it when they're at their office or on vacation.  Any place you can get access to a web browser, WebMail will give you access to your new messages.

• WebMail is designed for users who find themselves away from home, but have access to any PC hooked to the internet and want to check their email messages.

• Works much like Hotmail or Yahoo mail.

• WebMail allows any customer to read, reply, forward, create address groups and view some types of attachments just like with their regular email applications.

• WebMail is not designed as a substitute for your regular email software, i.e., Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Eudora, and other email clients. 

How does WebMail work? 
WebMail displays all of your emails that are in your account on the mail server.  It is NOT a copy of your email.  If you delete a message from WebMail, it will be deleted permanently from your account.  When you use PC based email programs like Outlook Express or Netscape in conjunction with WebMail, you will find that when you download your emails into them, they are no longer in your WebMail.  That is because WebMail is like looking at the source of your emails right on the server.

WebMail is secure.
WebMail is as safe as a username and secure password. Since most users will be accessing WebMail from a computer away from home, it is recommended that you always use the buttons in the left channel bar instead of the browsers' buttons. This will prevent any attempts for a user to access your email pages after you leave the WebMail service.   Closing all browser windows will have the same effect as the LOGOUT button.  It is a good rule of thumb to close your browser after you are done with WebMail.  As a safety precaution, WebMail will automatically log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity and require your email address and password again to log back in.
